Long time to blog..so a lot of things have happened in the two months I was away..summers..home food..career aspirations..what not!!!

Met some interesting people..some people who looked like a reflection of your past..some you'd never wanna meet again..phew!

Colleges restarted..wanted a shift denied..but the fighter continues..juniors have come..they look bright eyed and eager..let reality dawn on them..they kinda have already started complaining about lack of time!!

The most interesting person I met this summer was a chap called Siddharth..a guy..who had to drop out of class as he had no money..parents stay in a village and can't support him..used to work part time and attend college but it didn't work out..all the guy wanted was someone who could talk to him..guide him..you could see the desire to succeed in his eyes..He was trying for a break in the BPO sector..but lack of experience and Language skills pulled him down..the day I met him..he'd cracked a job offer from a domestic call centre and was literally in tears. I hadn't known Siddharth before..but the hour I spent talking to him..cemented my faith in the Spirit of the People of Mumbai..we fight it out and win our way!!!

SO IT GOES...

Well days have gone and I just realised its over 10 days in the new company. My first cheque arrived today..reimbursement for travelling from Pune to Mumbai to join ABG..well good..neways expenses are soaring up day by day. So life teaches lessons day by day, be it a bus conductor or a beggar on the streets or your boss. As an SIBM MBA now we gotta realise how we are different from MBA from second rung institutes. When we join, the expectations are really high..so firstly I gotta ask myself where and how I'm different or better..well the answer leads you to a quest for finding your true self. You meet different people, different back grounds, sometimes you bump into an alumnus, the resemblence is too good to believe. The comfort level is so high and you realise its how you project yourself as..You may not by the most knowledgeable coming from premier institutes but you definitely gotta act as if you really are. Then the whole world starts perceiving you as knowlegdeable and your work is done! Plus alumni support always matters! But you always gotta prove yourself as those from other non premier colleges always try to prove that you are not better than them by virtue of your college..every action, word, opportunity they'll try showing you that the lineage doesn't matter and they really work hard, maybe even harder and maybe even better..but still the arrogance and pride of being from a premier institiute needs to be there else they'll run over you..every day a new challenges..I say..BRING THEM ON....

Well it so happened that we were all walking on the road, five of us. It was a bright and sunny day and one of the guys said that its so damn hot , lets walk in the shade.. So..we walk..only tree..only crow..5 of us..guess who got the dropping!! Man never am I gonna publicly express my desire to walk in the shade after seeing what happened to my friend today!!

Here comes the summer sun, he burns my skin... well that was a song i heard long time back, guess the Mumbai heat goes unparalled! Its the same traffic and BEST buses which was a part of my life before goin to Pune. Somehow the traffic just keeps on increasing and roads shrinking.

The internships goin fine and got good croud from the other college. So its Bullshit Bingo, BTBA and pulling Munim Ji's legs all the way! So we have a Munim and a Cleopatra with us and we operate out of the PPO room and the Recreation room!

So the internship started and I now find myself in the loop of home-travel-office-travel-home. Somehow travel becomes a big chunk with the terrible traffic situtation and the BMC's love for digging up the roads. Guess John Maynard Keynes would love the BMC for sharing the passion for digging trenches!

Bus and train travel teach you a lot about life. The guy taller to you has smelly armpits by default and the guy shorter than you has chameli or some other godamn oil on the damn head! Guess all the "normal" height people suffer the most. Speaking of normal its again time for vote bank politics by way of reservations. I feel we can never develop in real terms as a country as lomg as we have these damn politicians who don't know a shit about running a country.

Speaking of bus travel actually met up the conductor whose bus i used to take way back in 2000 during my school days. The chap still has and amazingly enthusiastic way with which he goes about doing his job in a bus in which you can't move an inch! The courteous mannerisms and the way of talking would show some luxury hotels and airlines airhostesses as novices! The dude is really chilled about his job - the job of a bus conductor - where its so easy to just come up and demand "TICKET" and the job is done but this guy comes up the you and asks "Aapko kahaan jaana hai saab? Yeh lo appka ticket aur yeh lo apkaa change." The guy actually does it for all the passengers. Guess we all can learn something from him about customer service. Neways life's a great teacher always....

IT IS TIME....

Finally the exams got over today. What a relief man! The best part is the college generation woke up today and signed a written petition to send to the director. With more than half the people flunking MCS this was coming. The issue raised was pretty valid. We learn all the gyaan about effective performance appraisal in HR and how we gotta have a transparent system, we live in a system comparable to the pre 1991 era of performance appraisal. It defeats the purpose of having exams if we cannot learn where we are going wrong and a discussion on how we can be better. Lets see what comes out of this. Will our voices be heared or lost in the bureucratic setup......

So the days go by and the exams come to an end tomorrow. Gosh I'll be half MBA by then!

Huh ! So the challenge of testing my economic side was met with due success. That means I am passing Eco hopefully! So its a nice weekend as the exams were getting quite monotonous. Looking forward to some counterstrike and movies. Even accommodation for next year is taken care of

So Adios...

Generation Awake ??

March 23 ! Rings no bell in most people's head and thats really sad. This was the day when Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru were hanged to death. Its kinda wierd that Inquilab is no longer zindabad and we hum Masti Ki Pathshaala but as a generation are not still awake! I sometimes wonder whether the purpose of making Rang De Basanti was defeated cuz all people remember now is Masti Ki Pathshaala and not the messege the movie was supposed to carry!

As far as my revolution in today's paper was concerned, came out without dying! Luckily only stuff i had read and come were asked. So the battle continues and Inquilab Zindabad lives from my side atleast.

Great stufff ! The faculty in the finance paper comes and asks me to attempt the whole paper. Well, thats the only thing that can guarantee me a pass in finance. Now hopefully can relax with relatively easier papers in the next two days. But today?? Gotta leave it to the faculty who asked me to attempt the whole paper. Had cleared fin with just 2 marks. Shit i just wanna pass! The best thing, I have gone ahead and taken a Finance paper as an elective for the next sem. Gotta face this challenge now too. The funny thing that happened today was this guy who wanted to piss badly wasn't allowed to. That's because a guy was caught with notes in the loo. So our pissy guy was mumbling about why he can't piss. Next minutes he gets up and gulps down a glass of water as if that would have helped! People forget basic body stuff during exams. Pee + Water = More Pee !!

Neways lets see whats in store for me in CounterStrike today. Gotta play my heart out today..
